Hong Kong Airport (HKG)

Introduction

The Hong Kong International Airport is the region's main airport.  Often called the Chek Lap Kok Airport, the airport was completed in 1998.  It is currently the busiest cargo airport in the world.

The airport is the primary hub for Cathay Pacific Airlines, Dragonair and Hong Kong Express Airways.  Most of the main international air carriers, however, provide passenger service to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong International Airport is located on Chek Lap Kok Island.

Ground Transportation

There are many different options for travelling to the airport:  bus, ferry, rail or taxi.

There are some 25 bus routes that run to the airport from various points in Hong kong.

Ferry service is available to various destinations outside Hong Kong including Guangshou (China),Shenzhen (China) and Macau.

The quickest to reach Kowloon or Hong Kong Island from the airport is via the Airport Express train service.  It takes only 24 minutes.
