Vienna International Airport (VIE)
The Vienna International Airport (Flughafen Wien-Schwechat) is Austria's
largest airport and home base to Austrian Airlines. Over 16 million
passengers arrive or depart at the Vienna Airport each year, making it the
27th busiest international airport in the world.
Location of the Vienna International Airport
The Vienna Airport is located 18 kilometers (11 miles) southeast of
Vienna near the Austrian town of Schwechat.
Transportation to the Vienna-Schwechat International Airport
Visitors to Vienna can travel from the airport to downtown Vienna by bus,
S-bahn or train. The S-bahn service (metropolitan train) is
inexpensive (3 Euros) and fast (24 minutes). Trains leave the airport
every 30 minutes.
